Rochester Woman Sentenced to 28-56 Years for Murder of Ex-Girlfriend

CONCORD, N.H. – A Rochester woman has been sentenced to 28 to 56 years in state prison after pleading guilty to the murder of her ex-partner in May 2023.

On November 21, 2024, Haydee Rivera-Nadeau pleaded guilty in Strafford County Superior Court to Second Degree Murder for the shooting death of Lisa Rocheleau at her workplace in Rochester. Rivera-Nadeau also admitted to Falsifying Physical Evidence in an attempt to conceal her crime.

During sentencing, multiple family members, friends, and community members spoke in memory of Rocheleau, emphasizing the impact of her loss. The court imposed the 28 to 56-year prison sentence, as recommended by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, with an additional 2 to 4 years for falsifying evidence.

"I extend my sincere thanks to our prosecution team as well as our law enforcement partners, especially the Rochester Police Department, for their thorough work during this investigation," said Attorney General John M. Formella. "The defendant’s plea of guilty with the accompanying significant term of incarceration is a reflection of the strength of the evidence marshaled during the professional, meticulous investigation of this case. My thoughts are with the family, friends, and the significant number of community members whose lives were enriched by knowing and loving Lisa Rocheleau."

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley and Assistant Attorney General R. Christopher Knowles, with support from Crime Victim Advocate Ashley Taylor.
