Man Deceased After Crash in Hill
HILL, N.H. – A 36-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Hill early this morning.
At approximately 12:49 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, New Hampshire State Police Troopers from Troop D responded to a report of a crash on Route 3A near High Ridge Road. Upon arrival, Troopers and emergency medical personnel located a white 2003 Mitsubishi FE639 box truck off the road and down an embankment at a tree line.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Michael Kaar of Hill, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that speed was a primary factor in the crash.
New Hampshire Route 3A was initially shut down in both directions for approximately one hour. The road was then partially reopened with one lane closed for an additional three hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene and investigate the incident.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the Bristol Police Department, Bristol Fire Department, Hill Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information related to the crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Conor Davis at Conor.K.Davis@dos.nh.gov.
