Pelham Police Make Multiple Arrests During Evening Commute
PELHAM, N.H. – Two individuals were arrested in separate incidents Tuesday afternoon as Pelham Police responded to multiple crashes during the evening commute.
At approximately 3:39 p.m. on January 28, 2025, Pelham Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Currier Road. A white Ford Transit van had veered off the northbound shoulder, struck a rock wall, and landed in a shallow pond about 50 feet from the roadway.
An investigation revealed that the same vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run crash moments earlier at a residence on Jericho Road. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Joshua St. Jean of Hudson, N.H., was arrested and charged with Conduct After an Accident and Reckless Operation. He was released on bail and is scheduled for arraignment on March 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. in Salem District Court.
A section of Currier Road was closed for an extended period to allow crews to safely remove the van from the pond.
Shortly after, at 4:05 p.m., Sgt. Adam Thistle was traveling westbound on Willow Street when a white Kia Sorento entered his lane, nearly causing a head-on collision. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as 37-year-old Andrew Lucchesi of Tyngsborough, Mass.
Following an investigation, Lucchesi was determined to be driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Operation, Open Container, and Resisting Arrest. Lucchesi was bailed on personal recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment on February 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. in Salem District Court.
